Hosted by Univeritas Gadjah Mada (UGM), one of the top universities in Indonesia, The International Symposium on Marine and Fisheries Research gathered professionals and scholars in related fields from East and Southeast Asia. Prof. Xue Xiongzhi delivered a report on “Mutual Reinforce between Integrated Coastal Management & Marine Spatial Planning in Xiamen” during the ISMFR, in which the results and best practices of Xiamen ICM was shared and mutual reinforcement of ICM and MSP was demonstrated. After the Symposium, Prof. Xue had an in-depth conversation with Dr. Eko Setyobudi from the Fisheries Department, UGM on future cooperation between Xiamen University and UGM. The conversation culminated in a consensus on a deepened cooperation on a larger scale between the two universities.
