This Summer Camp consists of various activities including program introduction, academic lectures, mangrove sampling practice, field trips, and visits to laboratories in XMU. Participants made field trips to Wuyuan Bay, Guanyinshan Beach, Huangcuo Beach, Haiwan Park, Yundang Lake, Xiamen Planning Exhibition Hall to see the great changes brought to Xiamen by ICM; They also conducted mangrove sampling in Ganwen Farm at Zini Town, Longhai City and then processed and analyzed the samples in the laboratory; Paid a visit to the Exhibition Hall of XMU History to learn the history of XMU as well as the history of Chinese higher education. During the Summer Camp, they also visited several laboratories and platforms at XMU including the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Sciences (MEL), Key Laboratory of Coastal and Wetland Ecosystems (WEL), Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory for Coastal Ecology and Environmental Studies (CEES), Genetic Engineering and Fermentation Platform, National Institute of Diagnostics and Vaccine Development in Infectious Diseases of the School of Public Health, and had chances to communicate with several top research teams of XMU.
