The two institutes believe that comprehensive talents training with multi-disciplinary is required for the education of Marine Affairs, which is an interdisciplinary major essentially. Since 2005, COMI is taking the advantage of Xiamen University by providing specialists in environmental science, management science, economics, politics, judicial etc. and training numbers of researchers and managers ready for government, research institutes and colleges. As now, COMI has three research directions on Marine Affair training, including Ocean Policy and Law, Marine Economics, Ocean and Coastal Management. College of Marine Sciences of Taiwan Sun Yat-sen University has the same mission to train as more as specialists for Taiwan on Marine Affairs. Then, they discussed on the specific topics of students’ admission, teaching programs, employment etc.
