Based on the theory of "integrated ocean and coastal management", the lecture focused on the discussion and exploration on the following issues: 1. Marine ecosystems, common issues and marine policies; 2. Major oceanic agencies and recent legislation; 3. Coastal management and wetland conservation; 4. Climate change, coastal hazards and marine pollution control; and 5. Marine protected areas, underwater cultural heritage and offshore wind farms. Practical experience in some countries and areas in Asia were also introduced and discussed.
