The Ph.D. program of Marine Affairs aims at fostering research and innovative talents of management with profound academic foundation and broad academic vision in the fields of marine affairs, and serving the needs of institutions of higher education, research institutes, government sectors, enterprises and public institutions for high-level talents in marine affairs.
After four years’ study, the students will acquire the following knowledge and skills:
1) An in-depth understanding on the research progress and latest development of marine affairs both at home and abroad Basic theories and professional knowledge on ocean development strategy and policies, oceans law, marine economics and ocean and coastal management etc.
2) High professional quality of conducting scientific research independently, and ability to make innovative research achievements theoretically or practically in marine affairs.
3) High proficiency in reading professional materials in English, written skills and capacity for international academic communication and exchanges.
4) Strong capacity to teach in institutions of higher education, and undertake research/management work at ocean related government sectors, enterprises and public institutions etc.
As an interdisciplinary program, Marine Affairs Ph.D. program offers two kinds of degrees for option, Doctoral Degree of Management, and Doctoral Degree of Science.
