Weiqi Chen is a professor in Environmental Science Research Center, Xiamen University. Her main research areas are marine environmental science, environmental economics and its applications in environmental planning and management. As a principal investigator or a main cooperator/investigator, she has participated in more than 40 projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Fujian Province of China, Canadian CIDA, the local government and et al., and won several awards such as Scientific Innovation Award of Ministry of Education, China (Third Grade), Scientific Innovation Award of Xiamen Municipality (Second Grade), Scientific Innovation Award of Fujian Province (Second Grade) and so on. So far, she has published more than 130 academic papers and co-authored several books on strategic environmental assessment.
